Yeadon Methodist Church is situated in the heart of Yeadon, adjacent to Yeadon Town Hall.
The current church is an amalgamation of first, in 1955, Queen Street Methodist Church and Chapel Hill Church (becoming St Mark’s). Then, in 1967, St Mark’s and Central Methodist Church became one Church body. From September 2025 we will be part of the new multi-site Chevin Methodist church.
The former Chapel Hill Sunday School is now the sanctuary for worship and the former Central Sunday School is now the Church Hall (Hardwick Hall).
Over the years the buildings have been altered and refurbished several times and today are pleasant, welcoming spaces in which to worship and share fellowship. Rooms are well used by church groups for worship, prayer, Bible study, sharing meals, craft group, children’s groups, celebrating special occasions, social quizzes, beetle drives and more!
The Hardwick Hall is open every Friday morning for tea, coffee, chat and company.
Several community groups also meet regularly including a pre-school, under 5’s football, Zumba, Thursday Club (for retired age), music groups and a concert band.
The main entrance is from the car park, this is flanked by garden borders maintained by church members and containing plants donated in memory of former members. The entrance at the Town Hall square side is by the War Memorial stone and adjacent garden. Again, plants and trees have been donated some in memory of loved ones and the memorial bench is a peaceful spot to sit, remember and contemplate.
Our church family is bound together by our Christian faith, sharing God’s love for all and working together to make our church a warm, welcoming and safe place to be for everyone.
Come and join us there’s always room for our family to grow!
